A good dessert

Well, for family home evening last night, it was my turn to come up with the treat. I decided that I wanted to do something a little different than the usual norm. College students tend to buy a bag of cookies or a carton of ice cream if they have treats for FHE. I guess I should say guy college students tend to do that. The girls usually go all out and cook something that's absolutely amazing. Well, I kind of wanted to go for the amazing type of treat. I don't know if it was or not, but I think it was alright. I made a dessert that is called "dump cake". I know, it sounds really funny and not that good at all, but you'll have to trust me on this. Another name for this dessert is "upside down cake". I'm sure you'd recognize it better like that, than the name. It's simple to make and very good. All you have to do is mix a can of cherries and pineapples together and put it in the pan. The next thing you do is pour white cake mix on top of the cherries and pineapples. Just take it out of the bag and pour it on top. After that, you melt a stick of butter and pour it on top of the cake mix. The last step to making the famous "dump cake" is putting chopped up pecans on top of it all. You can always leave out the nuts if you don't like them. So, that's how you make it. You put it in the oven(350 degrees F) for 30-45 minutes and afterwards have an amazing dessert for any type of activity.

It sounds amazing! Look at you and your bad culinary self! I'm so proud!

And frankly, a little hungry now. Thanks.

That sounds like crumbly goodness. I think I will try that sometime.

I think therefore I am said...

I wouldn't call it "dump" cake. The desert sounds delicous. Do you really want to conect something good with garbage? The dump brings images of trash, dirt, and grime to mind. It really does sound delicous though and Upside down cake really doesn't work well for it either.

Hey, it IS called dump cake, don't go changing the name. I'm surprised to find someone else who knows what that is! I had dump cake on Monday night as well, and I had the leftovers for lunch today. What a funny coincidence!
